Movie Review: A Royal Corgi Christmas
Subtitle: "When Royalty, Corgis, and Holiday Chaos Collide in the Most Paw-sitively Adorable Way."

“A Royal Corgi Christmas” is the kind of movie that combines everything you love about the holidays: romance, royal drama, Christmas cheer, and, of course, a lot of corgi-related cuteness in one of the best Hallmark Christmas movies. If you’ve ever wondered, “What if the royal family had a Christmas movie starring adorable dogs and way too much holiday mischief,” then this movie is a corgi-sized Christmas miracle just waiting to happen.

The plot follows Princess Emily (played by Hunter King) as she heads home for the holidays to the royal family’s castle. Of course, she’s dealing with royal duties, a family full of quirky relatives, and a love life that needs some serious TLC (and by TLC, I mean “awkward family interactions” and a very questionable decision to help coordinate the royal Christmas ball). But what really throws her holiday plans into chaos? A royal corgi named Henry, who’s about as mischievous as a puppy on a sugar high—and somehow, way more adorable.

Princess Emily is tasked with looking after Henry, the royal corgi, whose idea of “helping” is stealing Christmas decorations, playing with important documents (because corgis know exactly what a family heirloom looks like), and doing everything possible to sabotage any romantic interactions Emily might have. Enter Max (played by Philippe A. C. L. Lee), a very charming dog trainer who’s tasked with “reforming” the royal corgi and possibly becoming a fixture in Princess Emily’s life (because this is Hallmark and of course, romance follows). Naturally, the tension between them is about as thick as the royal Christmas pudding, especially since they’re clearly meant to be together—but also have the world’s most adorable dog (who definitely knows how to get between them).

The humor in this movie comes from the delightful chaos that only a royal corgi could create. Watching Henry wreak havoc on the royal estate—chewing through ribbons, stealing Christmas cookies, and possibly causing an international diplomatic incident over a misplaced chew toy—is the best comedy you’ll find this holiday season. There’s one moment where Henry steals a royal ornament and parades it around like a trophy, and honestly, it’s the greatest thing you’ll see all Christmas. The drama may be royal, but the stakes are about 99% determined by how much corgi fluff is involved-- can't skip on this one if you're looking for the best Hallmark Christmas movies.

Of course, the town where the royal family lives is just as adorable as the royal pets: snow-covered streets, Christmas lights everywhere, and a group of locals who are way too invested in the royal family's holiday plans. Watching Emily try to juggle royal appearances, corgi chaos, and possibly falling for Max is like watching someone attempt to juggle Christmas ornaments while wearing oven mitts. Spoiler: She definitely drops a few. But it’s so funny when she does.

The romance? Oh, it’s as predictable as it gets. Max and Emily obviously start out on opposite sides of the whole “I’m not really into this” fence, but after a few too many snowball fights, dog-sitting mishaps, and “Can you help me find my missing ornament?” moments, they finally admit their feelings for each other. The chemistry is undeniably adorable, but really, it’s just a corgi-sized obstacle course of cuteness that leads them right into each other’s arms.

The grand finale is everything you’d expect from a movie about royal corgis and Christmas cheer: Henry the corgi saves the day in some ridiculously magical way, everyone realizes they’ve been in love the whole time, and there’s a Christmas ball so fancy that even the corgi gets a tuxedo. Swoon. Add in a kiss, some festive lighting, and the realization that love truly conquers all (even in a royal family) and you’ve got yourself the perfect holiday movie.

A Royal Corgi Christmas is the ultimate in Hallmark holiday charm—sweet, funny, and full of adorable doggy drama. It’s perfect for anyone who believes that Christmas isn’t complete without a little royal flair and a lot of corgi-induced mayhem. So grab your coziest blanket, get ready for a puppy-filled love story, and enjoy the magic of a royal Christmas like you’ve never seen before-- one of the best Hallmark Christmas movies. 🐾🎄👑
