Country music's latest "It Girl," Adelaide Kay, is so fed up with her controlling manager that she sneaks off the tour bus after their latest squabble. Though exhilarated to be free, she finds herself stranded in the freezing cold of a Pennsylvania winter, with no money and no plan. A local family, the Lapps, take her in. They know the true meaning of the season, even if they're close to losing their tree farm. No one in the family recognizes Adelaide except Dillon, the oldest son.

A Holly Jolly Melody: Your Checklist of Christmas Clichés
Watching A Song for Christmas feels like being wrapped in a warm, slightly itchy holiday sweater that your grandma knitted with love and a questionable understanding of fashion. This is Hallmark's latest gift to the world - and by "gift," I mean that predictable present you receive every year, like socks, but somehow you still look forward to it.
As expected from Hallmark holiday movies, A Song for Christmas hits all the right notes... and all the familiar ones. We meet our protagonist, Holly Winters (yes, that’s her real name), a small-town music teacher with big dreams of becoming a Nashville star. The film sets off with Holly finding out her school’s music program might face cuts. Enter Mr. Dreamy McPerfect—sorry, I mean Nick Snow—played by the most Canadian-looking actor they could find this side of the North Pole. He's an estranged country music legend who arrives to fix his broken heart and, apparently, the school budget.
From the town's endearing, over-invested nosy neighbors to a dog inexplicably dressed as a reindeer, this movie is a checklist of Hallmark movies' greatest hits. We’ve got a Christmas tree argument-turned-romantic moment, a cookie-baking disaster, and, of course, a climactic snowball fight that seems to solve all life’s problems.
It's as if a Hallmark holiday movie bingo card exploded onto the screen, but isn’t that why we’re here? We don’t want plot twists or complex characters - we’re in it for the sugar-induced coma and accidental “aww” moments. Will Holly and Nick save the music program, fall in love, and find themselves singing a magical duet at the town’s Christmas gala? I’ll give you one gingerbread guess.
If you love Hallmark's particular brand of yuletide cheer, A Song for Christmas is a must-watch. If not, well, it’s cheaper than socks and doesn’t require a gift receipt. It’s a wonderfully predictable slice of holiday ham - with extra cheese.
