Description
Maren is a busy single mother raising her adopted daughter, Leah, while running her late father's beloved hardware store. When Leah gets the opportunity to participate in the Christmas Companions program at Jolly Acres, a new retirement community, she is thrilled to be paired with Kris, a cheerful resident who looks remarkably like Santa Claus. Meanwhile, Maren meets Reid, the community's Director of Community Launch and Operations, whose job requires him to travel from facility to facility. When the contractor working on the community room suddenly backs out, Maren volunteers to help finish the project so the Christmas program can continue. As she and Reid work together, Maren learns to accept help rather than carrying every responsibility herself, while Reid begins questioning whether his next assignment is worth leaving a community that feels like home.

Adopting St. Nick
Subtitle: When your daughter's new best friend is Santa Claus, but your biggest gift might be the handsome guy fixing the community center.
Maren is a hardworking single mom juggling an adopted daughter, a family hardware store, and approximately 47 other responsibilities. So naturally, when her daughter Leah joins a Christmas program at a retirement community, Maren decides to volunteer her time helping save the holiday festivities. Because apparently running a business and raising a child just isn't enough seasonal stress.
Enter Reid, the community's charming Director of Community Launch and Operations. His job involves traveling from one retirement community to another, which sounds suspiciously like a Hallmark version of a regional management consultant. As Maren and Reid work together to finish the community room, sparks fly, Christmas magic happens, and a few residents may be better at matchmaking than they are at bingo.
Meanwhile, Leah befriends Kris, a resident who looks remarkably like Santa Claus. At this point, the North Pole should probably investigate a staffing shortage.
Adopting St. Nick delivers the familiar ingredients of Hallmark movies: small-town charm, unexpected romance, adorable kids, and enough Christmas spirit to power an entire department store. It's a heartwarming reminder that family isn't always about where you come from, but who shows up for you. And as Hallmark holiday movies go, this one proves that sometimes the best Christmas present comes with a beard, a tool belt, and a suspiciously good understanding of Santa's schedule.
