Review

Christmas Above the Clouds: Mile-High Mistletoe Mayhem

If you’ve ever thought, “What this flight needs is less turbulence and more emotional baggage,” then Christmas Above the Clouds is your boarding pass to joy. In this latest entry from the masters of manufactured cheer, Hallmark movies take to the skies—because apparently, even Santa can’t escape corporate travel season.

The movie follows a workaholic CEO who tries to skip Christmas by hopping on a flight to Australia. Naturally, the universe—and a few meddling holiday spirits—have other plans. Before the seatbelt sign even turns off, she’s confronting her past, her ex, and the undeniable fact that even at 30,000 feet, love still finds a way to violate FAA regulations.

As far as Hallmark holiday movies go, this one’s got it all: ghostly life lessons, perfectly timed snowstorms despite crossing the equator, and a meet-cute that would make TSA jealous. Erin Krakow brings her usual sparkle, Tyler Hynes smolders like an overcooked in-flight meal, and by the time the two share a peppermint mocha in the sky, you’ll be shouting, “Give that plane an engagement ring!”

The film’s moral is clear: you can run from Christmas, but you can’t hide—not even at cruising altitude. Because in the world of Hallmark movies, love always finds you… usually in a middle seat between destiny and delayed emotional growth.

Five gingerbread cookies out of five for airborne romance, mild absurdity, and proving that even jet lag can’t dull the glow of holiday magic.
