Movie Review: Everything Christmas
Subtitle: "When Christmas, Chaos, and Way Too Many Perfectly Timed Holiday Moments Collide in the Most Hilariously Predictable Way."

“Everything Christmas” is Hallmark’s latest holiday extravaganza that takes the already ridiculous concept of a “perfect Christmas” and cranks it up to 11. If you’ve ever wondered, "What if Christmas was way too perfect, yet totally chaotic, and involved a little bit too much holiday magic?"—then this movie is your ultimate Christmas wish granted, with a sprinkle of confusion and a side of mistletoe.

The plot follows Jenna (played by Jill Wagner), a woman who’s been through way too many holiday disasters and has finally had enough. After an entire year of being bombarded by “too-perfect Christmas” expectations, she’s just trying to survive the season. So naturally, she does what any sensible person would do—she returns home to her quirky, Christmas-obsessed family to spend the holidays in the most predictable yet hilarious way possible. However, she soon finds herself caught in the whirlwind of Christmas chaos, where every family member has their own ridiculously over-the-top idea of what makes the holidays perfect—and let’s just say, no one can agree.

Enter Ethan (played by Christopher Russell, who’s clearly way too perfect for Hallmark), Jenna’s former high school crush who’s definitely not interested in rekindling any holiday romances—except, of course, that he is, because this is Hallmark, and we all know how these things go. He’s back in town to help Jenna’s family organize their Christmas activities, but it’s obvious that he’s way more into her than he lets on. The moment they reconnect, the “we’re definitely not falling in love” dance starts, even though we all know how this movie ends. From awkward Christmas tree decorating to accidental mistletoe moments, watching these two pretend they’re not into each other is peak holiday comedy.

The humor in this movie comes from the absolute chaos that’s Jenna’s life when she tries to outmaneuver the “perfect Christmas” while her family pushes way too many festive activities on her—like too many gingerbread house competitions, way too much family karaoke, and the classic “over-the-top holiday dinner” that’s always just a little bit too much. Every time Jenna tries to escape from her family's well-meaning holiday pressure, she somehow finds herself right back in the middle of another Christmas event—because, of course, she does. She accidentally gets covered in flour from a baking mishap, then definitely gets pulled into a too-perfect Christmas carol-off, and let’s not forget the Christmas pajama fiasco that’s just a little too on the nose.

But the real star of the show is the town—because no Hallmark Christmas movie is complete without a town so obsessed with Christmas that it feels like everyone is secretly planning to turn it into a Christmas theme park. From way too many Christmas light competitions to way too many themed events like the annual Christmas sleigh race (which definitely does not exist in real life), Jenna’s hometown is the ultimate Christmas utopia—and it’s way too much for her to handle. Watching her try to stay sane while navigating the overly enthusiastic townsfolk who are way too invested in her love life is comedic perfection.

And then there’s the romance. Oh, the romance. Jenna and Ethan’s “we’re definitely not falling for each other” routine is so obvious that you could set your watch to it. Every time they share an awkward look, too many holiday cookies, or an unexpected romantic conversation about how perfect Christmas is (which, of course, is way too perfect), you’ll be rolling your eyes and grinning from ear to ear because, well, you know they’re about to fall in love. Their unnecessary yet adorable holiday chemistry makes it impossible to not root for them—because it’s Hallmark, and there’s way too much Christmas spirit for them not to end up perfectly together by the end.

The grand finale? Of course, it’s perfect. After way too many family interventions, way too much Christmas decorating, and way too many mistletoe moments, Jenna and Ethan realize that maybe the perfect Christmas isn’t about everything being flawless—it’s about embracing the chaos, sharing the moments, and falling in love in the most ridiculous way possible. The town gathers together to celebrate their predictable Christmas miracle, and they share the perfect kiss under the “way too perfect” Christmas tree that’s definitely 30 feet tall and surrounded by too many presents—but hey, this is Hallmark, so what’s too much?

“Everything Christmas” is the ultimate feel-good, laugh-out-loud holiday movie that’s packed with way too many Christmas clichés, way too many festive moments, and a romance that’s as predictable as it is adorable. If you love holiday chaos, romantic misunderstandings, and way too many perfect Christmas moments—then grab your coziest blanket, a plate of cookies, and get ready for a movie that will have you laughing, swooning, and feeling way too festive by the time it’s over. 🎄💋🍪
