Movie Review: Good Morning Christmas!
Subtitle: “Where Love is on Air, and So is Awkward Holiday Cheer.”

Good Morning Christmas! is Hallmark’s delightful take on festive workplace tension, where two co-hosts bicker their way through a week of live holiday broadcasts—and accidentally fall in love along the way. It’s a heartwarming tale of scripted banter turning into something real, all set against the backdrop of enough twinkling lights to make a fire marshal nervous.

The story follows Melissa Merry (Alison Sweeney) and Brian Bright (Marc Blucas), co-hosts of a morning TV show who are as opposite as tinsel and tree toppers. Melissa is professional and polished, while Brian is charmingly chaotic, preferring to wing it on air. When they’re sent to a small town to film a week of “Christmas cheer” segments, sparks fly—but not the romantic kind. At least, not at first.

Alison Sweeney’s Melissa is the perfect blend of exasperated and endearing, while Marc Blucas plays Brian as the kind of guy who can charm an entire room with one smile—even if he’s late for everything. Their chemistry is undeniable, even as they argue over snowman-building techniques and how many cookies is too many for breakfast (spoiler: there’s no such thing).

The movie’s premise is an endless goldmine of holiday shenanigans. Every segment they film seems designed to push them closer together, whether it’s decorating a gingerbread house, singing carols, or hosting a Christmas tree lighting that turns into a mildly disastrous snowball fight. Behind the cameras, their playful bickering slowly gives way to real feelings, because what’s more romantic than finding love while arguing over who gets the last candy cane?

The small-town setting is, of course, Hallmark perfection. From the cozy inn where Melissa and Brian are staying to the overly enthusiastic townsfolk who treat the co-hosts like visiting royalty, every scene is dripping with holiday magic. The town’s Christmas festival is the stuff of Pinterest dreams, complete with wreath-making competitions, ice skating, and exactly one elderly local who drops suspiciously wise love advice at just the right moment.

The supporting cast includes Melissa’s overly invested producer, who spends half the movie nudging her toward Brian, and Brian’s publicist, who seems to exist solely to remind him to stop flirting on live TV. Both add plenty of comedic flair to the unfolding romance.

By the time the big finale rolls around—a live Christmas Eve broadcast that conveniently doubles as Brian’s grand romantic gesture—you’ll be grinning like a kid on Christmas morning. Their love confession is cheesy but sweet, complete with twinkling lights, a perfectly timed snowfall, and a town-wide round of applause. Because of course.

Good Morning Christmas! is a merry, laugh-out-loud holiday movie that reminds us all that even the most awkward live segments can lead to something magical. It’s perfect for anyone who loves festive workplace rom-coms, enemies-to-lovers banter, and the idea that sometimes the best gift is the one you didn’t see coming—like a surprise smooch under the mistletoe. 🎄🎥❤️
