When a fake engagement turns into real love—because who needs a plan when there’s Christmas magic?
In Merry Matrimony, Jessica Lowndes stars as a woman who’s stuck in the middle of a fake engagement for the sake of family holiday cheer. Enter Christopher Russell as the charming (and completely unsuspecting) guy who agrees to play the fiancé... and ends up playing the role of a lifetime. Jennifer Gibson adds some much-needed holiday sass as the over-the-top mother, whose love for Christmas may be only outmatched by her love for a good wedding.
As with most Hallmark holiday movies, the plot involves an improbable but irresistible romance, complete with too many Christmas cookies, awkward moments, and that one snow-covered scene where everything comes together in a perfectly timed kiss. Throw in a fake engagement and some very questionable family dynamics, and you've got the perfect holiday rom-com. Merry Matrimony is everything you expect from a Hallmark movie: festive, funny, and full of enough Christmas spirit to make you believe in love... and maybe even fake weddings.
