Description
When Georgia travels from Denver to the Greek island of Corfu to settle the estate of her late aunt, she discovers that the inheritance she expected to receive has been split between her and Alex, an old friend who is now a local police officer. Because Georgia is not a Greek resident, the inheritance comes with an unexpected legal complication: she and Alex must marry in order to satisfy the requirements. The Greek Aisle
Subtitle: Fake Marriage, Greek Islands, and the World's Most Romantic Inheritance Requirement
Georgia travels from Denver to Corfu expecting to deal with her late aunt's estate and hopefully wrap everything up without too much drama. Naturally, this is a Hallmark movie, so “wrap everything up without too much drama” was never a realistic option.
Instead, Georgia discovers that her inheritance has been split with Alex, an old friend who has somehow evolved into a handsome local police officer. And because apparently Greek inheritance law was written by someone who really enjoyed romantic comedies, there's a small complication: Georgia and Alex need to get married.
Yes. Married.
Because nothing says “efficient estate settlement” quite like adding a spouse to the paperwork.
The fake-marriage setup is classic Hallmark movies territory, and The Greek Aisle embraces it enthusiastically. Georgia and Alex begin with all the usual assurances that this is strictly business, which means absolutely everyone watching knows they are going to fall in love approximately 73 minutes later.
There are beautiful Greek views, family traditions, awkward romantic tension, and enough meaningful eye contact to qualify as a second communication system. Georgia is also faced with the difficult decision of what to do with her inherited property, while Alex has his own reasons for wanting to preserve the family connection.
Of course, the biggest obstacle isn't really the inheritance.
It's feelings.
Because in the Hallmark universe, property law can be complicated, but admitting that you like someone is apparently an insurmountable legal proceeding.
The movie delivers exactly the sort of escapist romance you'd expect: sunshine, Mediterranean scenery, charming food, family drama, and two people insisting they're not falling for each other while behavi
