Movie Review: Where Are You, Christmas?
Subtitle: "When Christmas, Holiday Confusion, and Way Too Much Magic Collide in the Most Predictably Hilarious Way."

“Where Are You, Christmas?” is Hallmark’s latest festive adventure, and let me just say, this one takes the Christmas confusion to the next level. If you’ve ever wondered, “What if a super stressed-out woman who definitely doesn’t care about Christmas finds herself in a small town where way too much holiday chaos happens—and also somehow ends up learning the true meaning of Christmas through a series of way too obvious holiday events?” then this movie is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. Spoiler alert: It’s a mix of family drama, holiday confusion, and a romance so inevitable that even the Christmas lights know it’s coming.

The plot follows Hannah (played by Kimberley Sustad, who’s basically Hallmark royalty when it comes to “too busy for Christmas” roles), a career-driven woman who’s way too overwhelmed with life to bother with Christmas. She’s definitely not interested in spending time with her quirky family, who are way too into Christmas traditions and holiday magic—and is just trying to survive the season without any festive distractions. But of course, she gets dragged back to her hometown (because no one ever escapes Hallmark holiday drama), where too many Christmas secrets are about to come to light.

Enter Charlie (played by Paul Campbell, who is perfectly cast as the “charming, low-key guy who secretly understands Christmas better than everyone else”). Charlie is definitely not into Christmas—but, of course, that’s just a cover for how much he really loves the holiday. He’s the small-town local guy who’s totally fine with the way things are, even if Hannah is way too busy to notice him. Naturally, the two are definitely not going to fall in love, but after they start working together to help save the town’s Christmas traditions (because, why not?), they find themselves in the most obvious romance imaginable.

The comedy in this movie comes from the utter chaos that is the holiday season in a small town. Watching Hannah try to ignore Christmas magic while every single person in the town is way too enthusiastic about Christmas cheer is like watching someone try to put out a fire with gasoline—it’s utterly impossible and hilariously charming. Whether it’s too many misunderstandings over Christmas carols, way too much confusion over who’s in charge of the town tree lighting, or too many snowball fights that go wrong, this movie is a holiday disaster in the best way possible.

And of course, there’s the romance. Every time Hannah and Charlie share a “we’re definitely not falling in love” moment, it’s as obvious as the snow falling outside. Whether it’s accidentally sharing a “too close for comfort” conversation while decorating a Christmas tree or getting caught in a snowstorm that leads to way too much romantic tension, you’ll be grinning from ear to ear because you know exactly where this is going. They have way too much chemistry to avoid falling in love, even if they’re pretending not to be into each other.

The grand finale? Predictably heartwarming and way too sweet, of course. After way too many Christmas disasters, romantic misunderstandings, and way too many accidental holiday confessions, Hannah and Charlie finally realize that maybe Christmas isn’t about getting everything perfect—it’s about embracing the mess, learning to slow down, and of course, falling in love in the middle of it all. Naturally, they share the perfect kiss under a perfectly decorated Christmas tree surrounded by way too many cheering townsfolk (because, of course, the entire town is secretly rooting for them).

“Where Are You, Christmas?” is everything you expect from a Hallmark holiday movie: too much Christmas confusion, way too many magical moments, and a romance so predictable that even Santa can’t keep a secret. If you love watching way too many Christmas mishaps, holiday drama, and a love story that’s as inevitable as the snowstorm that’s bound to happen—then grab your coziest blanket, a cup of hot cocoa, and get ready for a movie that will have you laughing, swooning, and probably questioning whether or not you can make it through the holidays without too much chaos. 🎄💋❄️
